The Hour Marker is a quarterly print Astrology zine created to herald the bi-annual Solstices + Equinoxes.
This is its first iteration, there are sure to be changes in the next issue and potentially, all along the way.
The staples won't be changing, there will always be 1 horary exercise/example, 1 election, a featured Astrologer, and the Moon to benefics tracker.
What might change? the Interesting hours, the page count, the distribution/release dates, the price...(these are just some issues coming to mind.)
This is a niche zine and not for the beginner, it's not a typical horoscope and it won't cover "what's coming up for your signs".
What I hope it has is beauty and brains. It's for the major Astro-nerds, learning or practicing different traditional forms + niche branches of Astrology.

Page descriptions for Issue # 1 The Hour Marker
PAGE: How to use this zine.
The first page explains how to use the moon to benefic tracker, as well as how to use the elections provided in the zine.
PAGE: Contents.
PAGE: Solstice charts.
Two different versions of the December 2023 winter solstice charts. One of the charts is a circular whole sign chart and the other is a square Placidus chart.
PAGE: Horary Chart.
The horary question page shows the chart in question and gives you the client's question and circumstances. I’ve put this chart, many pages before the horary conclusion so that you have an opportunity to solve it before finding out how I solved it and how the client fared after the consult.
PAGES: Elections 1+2
(The flagship issue will have 2 elections, going forward there will only be 1 per issue.)
The election chart gives you the chart, as well as the day year time, and place the chart is drawn from. As mentioned on page one, if you are not in very close proximity to San Diego (where I live) you will have to use astrological software to erect your chart to be sure you can get the ascendant and the midheaven degrees to parody the elections angle degrees.
The following pages (3) offer a deeper look at the election chart details, including the lunar speed, the planetary day an hour, the planets, rulers, exaltation, lords, triplicity, terms, and face.
It also offers chart(s) virtues, and iniquities. I hope to demonstrate that my elections serve far more virtues than iniquities. Following pages Lasso to the Moon, + How to use this election- talk about how we can materialize what is going on in the sky. Providing more facets of the elected chart, the logic and reasoning for using this chart. Affinity Vignettes [on the how to use this chart page] is dedicated to the materialization of the elected chart.
It has several proposed ideas for action.
The next page is the second election. The second election starts with the elected chart page and similar to the last election has three following pages of chart, information, and potential intended actions.
PAGE: Interesting Hours.
Interesting Hours will be a reoccurring segment in each issue, which takes one of Ptolemy’s from the Centiloquy and explains a little deeper what the aphorism infers.
PAGE: Featured Astrologer.
The featured astrologer section provides information on how to contact or support/book this astrologer, and what their offerings are. The next page is a short interview with the featured astrologer. The third and final page for the featured astrologer is a little game of wed and behead planetary edition, as well as the astrologer's natal chart.
PAGE: Interesting Hours.
The next page is an astrology-inspired crossword puzzle.
PAGE: Horary Conclusion
The next page and the following four pages are the horary conclusion pages. It gives you my methodology, as well as a client's outcome.
PAGE: The Moon to Benefics.
The final page is when the moon meets with benefics tracker. It features the moon, conjunct, Sextile or trine to either Venus or Jupiter. The tracker uses seconds, so where the Moon will enter the same degree as a given planet, my noted times correspond to the exact moment of aspect. As mentioned on the first page, since I am based in San Diego, you will have to adjust the times provided in this tracker, adding in the amount of hours between San Diego, and where you live. For instance, the moon is going to conjunct Jupiter on December 22 at 4:52 AM in San Diego California, if you live in New York, the moon is going to conjunct Jupiter at 7:52 AM.
